What is considered the nicest surburban neighborhood in (Near) atlanta georga.?

I’m confused, I see these really nice homes on the internet for sale on the internet, but I wonder if they really are. They are under (or around) $200,000, but in my town, a nice home is 400,000 to 700,000.
My dad says we live in a richer town, but is it really that much of a difference?
We aren’t sure if we have to move or not, it has to do with my dad getting nominated for some thing for work, and if they choose him, he has to go to for 2 years to work, and we live in minnesota, so me and my mom want to go with him IF HE GETS SELLECTED.

it doesn’t have to be under 200,000
just not like a million

there are a lot of homes for sale, and they range in price from $200,000 to millions, depending on the neighborhood. It is only about 30 minutes outside of the center of Atlanta, great for shopping and college. The school district, Cobb County Schools, is ranked in the nation’s top ten districts. It is an awesome place to live – a small town feel with all the modern amenities of living in a big city. It has a lot of history and character as well, as it was a major hub during the Civil War.

    Hope this helps!

A house is much less then the same size house closer to Atlanta.
Schools are good- Forsyth County school system.
Forsyth county is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States, Very clean, and nice but still a very small town.

Its about 30 mins north of Atlanta

Alpharetta is nice. The housing here will be more expensive. Roswell borders Alpharetta, the housing may be slightly less in Roswell.
Woodstock is nice too. It is about 30 minutes North of Atlanta. Depending upon where your father has to commute, will probably influence where you live. The Atlanta traffic is brutal!!!!!!

Atlanta and the surrounding areas (according to some articles online) did not have the housing boom like some parts of the country. It stayed pretty moderate.

    Good Luck in your situation!!

    Fayette County > Peachtree city

All the famous rappers, singers, Chickfil-a president and preachers live here, Janet Jackson, Ludacris, Reverand Dollar, Outkast, Truett Cathy.
Also alot of pilots that work at the Hartsfeild- Jackson airport live there

i guess its close enought but far enough from Atlanta

Having had to live in Peachtree City for 18 years, I would advise against it. Some of the richest, most snobby, evangelical people I have ever met! Not much to do there, like 95% Republican, super expensive, and I did not find the schools to be that good. Oh and I ran into Ludacris at the movie theater and he was a jerk! He cut in front of me in line and when I called him on it he started trying to pick a fight!

PLEASE go down there first, stay in a hotel, drive around to all the burbs at night, and during the day. I moved to Marietta (north ATL) from TN–wow it looked so great during the day, beautiful landscaping, etc. When we were moving the couch in, a guy about knocked us over running thru the sidewalk–the cops showed up shorlty after asking us if we saw where he threw the weed. It took a downward spiral from there. Murders, etc… PLEASE PLEASE evaluate the area thoroughly before choosing “on the internet” because they all look nice online!

Gwinnett County is a really good place. Homes in Lawrenceville/Snellville are under one of the best high schools in the county and one of the top high schools in the state (Brookwood High School). Homes are around 150,000 – 700,000. You can get a 3,000 sq. ft home (up to 5,000 with basement) for around 300,000 – 400,000, within a neighborhood, with amenities, etc… In addition to schools, it’s really convenient to major shopping districts, highways, etc… The only downside is the rather long commute. From where I live, it’s about a 30 – 40 minute drive to downtown Atlanta.
