Moving to Atlanta Area…need some tips on places to live..?

Hi. I’m a 27/SWF down to from NJ next summer. I’m looking for a safe, fun area to in with a higher population of professional singles in the 25 – 40 range. Definitely putting an emphasis on SAFE. I’m looking for apartments or townhome/condos. Does anyone have any on locations? I appreciate any info you can provide. Any websites that you think might also help in my search would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Kim

Decatur, Virginia Highlands and the new Atlantic Station. There are some new/refurb areas around midtown and also Cabbagetown.Lots of new lofts being build. You can Google all. Here is one site: http://www.10best.com/Atlanta/

I would highly recommand the Perimeter Mall area (specifically Ashford-Dunwoody Rd. still considered Atlanta). It’s a very sophisticated, fun, and SAFE area. There are a lot of people like yourself there, generally the late 20s to mid 30s professionals. There are shopping areas, bars, cafes, restaurants, and new lofts being built. You will always be close to the highway, which will lead you into downtown, buckhead, or midtown within 20-25 minutes or so (no traffic that is). Lots of offices are there too, so happy hour would be a good idea to meet new people for you.

Decatur would be good too, it’s an older area, but you’ll meet a good mixture of people and culture(lots of college students, young professionals, etc.) It’s right next to Virginia Highland and Little Five Points, so you can go bar hopping or shopping. the “newness” of apartments definately vary, since it’s an older area.

If you want to live in the city, then consider Atlantic station, it’s more hip and new, but with a more young and fun crowd (although could be a bit rowdy on the weekends). This is a new development, so safety is still to be determined.

Good luck, and enjoy the city :D
